The growth along Boggy Creek Road continues at a rapid pace, with a major new multifamily project set to join the corridor. An entity associated with developer Parkway acquired 22 acres near Boggy Creek Road and Simpson Road from Daryl Carter of Maury L. Carter & Associates, Inc. and Jim Dowd of Dowd Properties for $15 million.
The approved plans call for 350 apartments in the first phase, along with four acres of commercial outparcels in a future phase.
“They had the property under contract, and we gave them time to craft their vision of what they wanted to do with the property,” said Carter. “We gave them time to go through the entitlement and permitting process, and they closed when those approvals were in place.”
Carter emphasized the explosive growth along Boggy Creek Road, noting its strategic location near Orlando International Airport, Lake Nona’s Medical City, and the planned Simpson Road extension.
“If you look at the development pattern that is already happening on Boggy Creek Road, people are going to be astonished at how fast the whole corridor is built out,” Carter said. “It’s one of the better development corners in Central Florida.”
Maury L. Carter & Associates and Dowd Properties also own an additional 11 acres directly south of the site, which remain available for sale and could support a similar mixed-use development.
