The city of Orlando has purchased a trio of properties south of downtown.
The properties totaling 3.4 acres at 806 and 850 S. Hughey Ave. and 405 W. Gore St. were bought for $9.4 million from the Jennie F. Thomas Revocable Trust and the Joanne F. Garner Revocable Trust on July 2. City Council approved the deal unanimously on May 11….
The sellers were represented by Colton Bishop, Billy Bishop and Kyle Wood of Bishop Wood Partners. The city did not have a broker listed.
Orlando bought land in what has been an active corridor for office and warehouse transactions.
Real estate executive Daryl Carter last year purchased 438 W. Kaley, an industrial property once slated for a OnePulse Foundation museum. He told Orlando Business Journal that he has gotten proposals to both sell the 1.7-acre site for development and to lease it to tenants.
“Demand is good and growing,” he said. Carter added the appeal of properties there is due to a number of factors, including the proximity of Orlando Health‘s main campus to the north, Orange Avenue to the east and Interstate 4 to the west.
